The actress was introduced, along with the tag line of the film that read, “The protector. The destroyer. The mother of all.” Speaking about it, Kaushik shared, “I will say as much as is written. Everything that is written in the tagline is there in the film. We wanted someone younger for that character, someone who doesn’t have a baggage. We wanted a character like that and it evolved as we kept writing. She is also a very good actor. Not just Saiyaara, but I have seen her work besides that. She caught things really well during the screen test and the reading. We had brought in Abhay Verma in Munjya (2024), who was very new at that time. But he went well with the character so we stuck to him. That’s our thing.”

Besides Shakti Shalini, the makers have also announced the titles of the upcoming films in the universe, which will be released over the next couple of years. While casting for all of them has not been revealed, there are rumours that Alia Bhatt has come on board for one of the films titled Chamunda. When asked about the same, Amar neither confirmed nor denied the reports. He revealed, “When it happens, everyone will know. I am not denying or accepting anything right now. Everything is on the timeline. We only focus on the story and think about the casting later. We don’t write the script or story based on the cast. Thankfully, that does not happen here.”

The filmmaker continued, “The audience can expect the bar will go up (with the upcoming films). We will try to take the bar up. We are making these for the audience, for the fans, for the public. If we make a mistake and don’t do it right, please tell us via Instagram or any other platform. Just pray for us. We will try to give you the best. We don’t want to be polluted. We want to be honest and make a film that is honest, like we did with our first film (Stree). This is what I want from the audience. We give them what they want.”

Shakti Shalini will be released in December next year.
