L2: Empuraan has been unstoppable in Malayalam. The Mohanlal-starrer has been on a rampage in the Overseas market. The political action thriller is Mollywood’s all-time biggest movie in Gross collections terms abroad. The overseas distributors have achieved break-even now that the Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial has grossed Rs 100 Cr overseas.

“The most powerfuL is he who has himself in his own power. First $10M overseas from Mollywood belongs to our movie,” Aashirvad Cinemas wrote on social media.

Empuraan, which was released on March 27th, has become the fastest 1 million pound grosser for an Indian film in the United Kingdom. In North America, it grossed nearly $1.8 million by the end of Sunday, becoming the highest grosser in Mollywood’s history. It achieved the feat in less than four days.

L2: Empuraan, co-starring Tovino Thomas and Manju Warrier, has been re-censored owing to pressure from central government-backed outfits. The re-censored version is yet to debut in cinemas.
