Many Indians were glued to their screens to witness Shah Rukh Khan make his iconic debut at Met Gala 2025. King Khan arrived at the Gala wearing a black outfit, custom-designed for him by celebrity designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Priyanka Chopra also stunned at the event in a polka dot halter-neck suit dress, designed by Olivier Rousteing. While both Priyanka and Shah Rukh dazzled on the red carpet, eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot a similarity between their Met Gala looks and the outfits they wore during the promotion of their 2006 film Don.
This year, the theme of the Met Gala was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and the dress code was “Tailored For You.” Both Shah Rukh and Priyanka’s outfits were perfectly in sync with the theme, but they reminded fans of one of the looks the duo sported during Don promotions. In old photos from the promotional tour, Shah Rukh is seen wearing an all-black suit, while Priyanka is seen donning a white-and-black polka dot dress—similar in pattern to the one she wore at the Met Gala.

However, Shah Rukh and Priyanka walked the red carpet separately. Shah Rukh was accompanied by his designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, while Priyanka arrived holding hands with her husband and pop star Nick Jonas. Don fans couldn’t keep calm after noticing the resemblance between the old and new looks. One fan wrote, “Don and Roma take over Met Gala.” Another commented, “Don and Roma are back for a mission.”
This was Priyanka Chopra’s fifth Met Gala appearance, while Shah Rukh made his debut at the prestigious fashion event this year. During an interaction at the Met Gala, Shah Rukh admitted that he is shy and usually averse to attending red carpet events. However, he made an exception this time due to encouragement from his children. He said, “I have little kids who are very excited about the Met. I don’t know if I would have come here on my own, but when Sabya suggested it, they went ‘wow’. I still don’t know if that was ‘wow, they called you’ or ‘wow, you’ll be good on it’.”
Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra have shared screen space in two hit Bollywood films—Don and Don 2, both directed by Farhan Akhtar.
