Dolby Cinema is a premium cinema experience that combines advanced audio and visual technologies to create an immersive moviegoing environment. The news is that Dolby Laboratories is expanding its immersive cinema experience in India, announcing the launch of six new Dolby Cinema screens across the country this year.
Moviegoers in Pune, Hyderabad, Trichy, Bengaluru, Kochi, and Ulikkal will soon be able to enjoy the enhanced visual and audio quality that Dolby Cinema offers, with installations planned at City Pride, Allu Cineplex, LA Cinema, AMB Cinemas, EVM Cinemas, and G Cineplex respectively.
Allu Cineplex is coming up in Hyderabad. It is being developed by Allu Aravind and Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers.
Dolby has had a working relationship with Annapurna Studios to “set up the country’s first Dolby Vision colour grading facility for cinema”.
Theater design in these locations is going to be one-of-its-kind. “Dolby Cinema locations are built with specific attention to acoustics and sightlines. The auditoriums often feature wall-to-wall screens, custom seating arrangements, and soundproofing to maximize the impact of the tech. Some even include aesthetic touches like mood-setting lighting or entry tunnels to build anticipation,” an analysis by a tech expert says.
