Delhi News Live Updates: Temperature in Capital expected to touch 38°C, AQI remains poor at 250 | Delhi News

Delhi News Live Updates: Delhi on Thursday morning recorded a minimum temperature of 19.5°C, which is 1.4 degrees above the seasonal average, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The weather department has also forecast strong surface winds during the day, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 38°C. Air quality remained poor, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 250 at 9am. 

GRAP-1 implemented: After staying in the ‘moderate’ category for eight days, the AQI dropped to ‘poor’ on Monday, prompting the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to invoke Stage I of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). The Capital touched 40°C on Wednesday, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Safdarjung, which is representative of the Capital, reported 38.9 degrees Celsius — around seven degrees above normal.
