
Deepika Padukone recently took to social media to confirm her role in Siddharth Anand’s King. The movie, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and more in leading roles in currently in production in Poland. Sharing an emotional post, Deepika opened up about filming Om Shanti Om with the actor, 18 years ago. The actress heartily recalled the lessons she learnt from the experienced star.
Deepika shared, “The very first lesson he taught me almost 18 years ago while filming Om Shanti Om was that the experience of making a movie, and the people you make it with, matter far more than its success.” She added, “I couldn’t agree more and have applied that learning to every decision I’ve made since. And that’s probably why we’re back making our 6th movie together?”
Ranveer Singh took to the comments to hype up the new collaboration. He dropped an admirable comment, stating, “Bestest Besties!” SRK and Deepika’s fans also dropped heartfelt comments. Some lauded the actors for collaborating on their sixth film while others shared their support for the Singham Again actress.
The news comes amidst Deepika’s exit from the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD. The makers shared the update on social media, stating that Deepika would not be a part of the movie. Vyjayanthi Movies shared an update on X (formerly Twitter). The post read, “This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD. After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future projects.”
