Curiosum Tech Private Limited, the organization behind Formula Bharat, has appointed Crystal Furtado as Chief Executive Officer and Renita Dsouza as Chief Marketing Officer, the company announced on May 8, 2025.
The leadership change comes as the Mumbai-based events and skills development organization looks to strengthen its position in engineering education and motorsport competition in India. Both executives have been with the company for five years, previously serving as Program Manager and Community Engagement Manager respectively.
Formula Bharat, which began in 2017, has established itself as India’s premier Formula Student engineering competition and the only South Asian event recognized in the official Formula Student world ranking. The competition appears alongside 25 other prestigious events globally, including those in Germany, the UK, the USA, and Japan.
Furtado will focus on the company’s strategic vision, operational growth, and long-term development initiatives. Dsouza will lead efforts to expand outreach, strengthen partnerships, and enhance engagement within the engineering community.
Curiosum Tech currently serves a network of more than 20,000 engineering students and graduates across India, providing them with platforms to showcase real-world projects evaluated by industry professionals. The organization has positioned itself as a bridge between academia and industry, offering students practical experience in vehicle design, simulation, manufacturing, and business management.
The Formula Student concept originated in the United States as Formula SAE in 1981 before expanding globally. These competitions challenge students to design, build, and race small-scale formula-style race cars, emphasizing both technical and business aspects of automotive engineering.
Under the new leadership, Curiosum Tech plans to launch additional skill development programs, develop deeper industry partnerships, and expand global outreach to maintain Formula Bharat’s position as a premier platform for aspiring engineers in India.
