In the age of sequels, it is rare to get prequels. The 2023 release, The Trial, will have one. Titled The Trial: Shadow Debt, the movie’s Concept Poster is out.
The first part has been streaming on Amazon Prime Video. With that movie receiving acclaim from OTT viewers, the creators have made the prequel on a bigger scale. Themes like moral dilemmas and investigative depth surrounding a seminal event will form the crux of the prequel.
Themes of surveillance, justice, or hidden truths, as hinted by the “Watchmen” reference, could be integral to the story. The phrase “WHO WATCHES THE WATCHMEN?” is a famous line often associated with the “Watchmen” graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. The poster has a dark, mysterious aesthetic with a forest landscape as the background. A winding road shaped like a question mark cuts through the dense green trees, and a white car is seen driving on this road, adding to the sense of intrigue.
Created by Raam Ganni, the thriller is produced by Smriti Sagi and Srinivas K. Naidu. SS Films in association with Commonman Productions is bringing out this narrative film. Currently in the pre-production stage, this will be a year-end release.
