Coming up in India: Worlds Largest Cinema Screen

Abhishek Agarwal Arts and UV Creations have unveiled plans to construct the world’s largest cinema screen in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The announcement was made today in the presence of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis.

Producers Abhishek Agarwal, known for films like The Kashmir Files and Karthikeya 2, and Vikram Reddy of UV Creations, celebrated for Goodachari and Bhaagamathie, are the proprietors.

Massive screens have been patronized by movie-goers across the world. The Iconic Tower at Tropicana Cineplex in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, holds the record with a screen measuring 88.5 feet wide by 49.2 feet tall. “Following closely is the Traumpalast Multiplex in Leonberg, Germany, with an IMAX screen measuring 125.7 feet by 54.1 feet, renowned for its crystal-clear resolution and immersive experience,” a search result analyzes. In the US, the AMC Lincoln Square 13 in New York City boasts a 96-foot-wide IMAX screen, one of the largest in North America. Sydney, Australia’s Event Cinemas George Street features a 95.1-foot-wide IMAX screen, a favorite for its vibrant visuals and state-of-the-art sound, a report states.

The question is, will India’s screen set global standards? It will be a colossal project that can’t afford to be anything less than the best. It is being put up at a time when Hindi movies are fast losing their audience base.
