Chris Gayle’s dual attire leaves fans guessing his true final favourite

Legendary West Indies batsman Chris Gayle has extended his support to both teams competing in the IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The 45-year-old took to his official social media handle to share a post that read: “Let The Game Begin! RCB v PBKS #OneIndia #IPL #Finals #2025.”

In the post, Gayle was seen wearing a turban, symbolising his support for PBKS, alongside an RCB jersey and customised shoes featuring the franchise’s iconic red and gold colours.

A towering figure in the league’s history, Gayle represented Bengaluru in 92 matches, amassing 3,420 runs. His explosive batting included an iconic unbeaten 175, still the highest individual score in IPL history, along with five centuries and 21 half-centuries.

Beyond his RCB legacy, Gayle remains the undisputed king of six-hitting in the IPL. Across 142 matches, he hammered a record-breaking 357 sixes, unmatched by any player in the tournament’s history.

He also represented Punjab in 41 matches between 2018 and 2021. During his stint with PBKS, the left-hander scored 1,339 runs at an average of 36.19 and a strike rate of 143.21, including one century and 10 half-centuries. His best score for Punjab was an unbeaten 104.

RCB have qualified for the Indian Premier League final three times in the past, 2009, 2011, and 2016, losing on all three occasions. PBKS, formerly known as Kings XI Punjab, reached the final once in 2014 but were defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders.
