Chennai Super Kings will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders. While Super Kings so have had a dire campaign Knight Riders had it bittersweet. The game on Friday might not be a knockout but just might be one of those crucial games that would decide the direction these two teams might take from here on in the campaign.
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag believes that it is Kolkata who are the favorites for this game. “I feel KKR. Chennai is not playing the kind of cricket KKR are playing. So I feel the scales will be tilted towards KKR because they have good spinners, and their batters will play spin better. Chennai’s batting hasn’t fired thus far. If the batting fires, something can happen, or else KKR,” he said on Star Sports.
“A torch has been lit as hope. The crowd that was leaving from this stadium when 24 or 25 runs per over were required will all return because the confidence has come due to Dhoni’s return. The impossible word is in foolish people’s dictionary. It’s possible if MS Dhoni is there,” he observed.
Dhoni to lead vs KKR
MS Dhoni will lead the CSK side against KKR as Ruturaj Gaikwad is ruled out of the IPL 2025 due to a hairline fracture in elbow. “Yes, it’s been a challenging season, but we’ve got a young wicketkeeper leading the team now, and hopefully things will turn around. I’ll be right there with the squad, supporting them from the dugout,” Gaikwad said. CSK has lost four games in a row after winning the first one. “I am really gutted to miss the rest of the IPL due to an unfortunate elbow injury. I want to thank everyone for your support so far, it truly means a lot,” Gaikwad would say about his injury.
