In a relief to passengers, Central Railway (CR) has announced the cancellation of two planned special blocks on the Kalyan-Badlapur and Neral sections. The midnight block between Kalyan and Badlapur, scheduled for March 29-30 for the de-launching of girders, has been called off.
The special block for commissioning electronic interlocking at Neral, set for March 30, has also been cancelled. According to officials, the blocks have been called off because of the possible passenger surge for the Gudi Padwa festival on Sunday.
With these cancellations, all suburban trains that were previously planned for cancellation, short termination, or short origination will now operate as per their regular routes and schedules. Similarly, all Mail and Express trains that were to be diverted will now run on their usual routes without any changes.
The decision will provide relief to commuters who rely on these routes, particularly over the festive weekend. The railway authorities have urged passengers to take note of the update and plan their travel accordingly.
