By casting Aishwarya Rajesh opposite Venkatesh in Sankranthiki Vasthunam, director Anil Ravipudi surprised many. The role of the wife came her way because three other heroines he approached declined to play a mother.
Looks like Anil is once again up for a surprise casting choice. His next film is going to be fronted by Megastar Chiranjeevi. Given that Chiru is in his mid-60s, he has a limited talent pool to choose from for the female lead’s role. Having already worked with Tamannaah Bhatia, Nayanthara, and Kajal Aggarwal, his options have become even more constrained. Anil is said to have zeroed in on Aditi Rao Hydari of Sammohanam, V and Maha Samudram fame.
Aditi is best suited to play the female lead opposite a senior actor like Chiranjeevi. She has been typecast in Hindi and other languages in damsel-in-distress sorta roles. Anil Ravipudi could just offer her a jubilant role for a change.
The Chiranjeevi-Anil Ravipudi movie will be produced by Sahu Garapati of Shine Screens. The banner’s most recent movie is Vishwak Sen’s Laila. Aditi Rao Hydari has been married to actor Siddharth.
