
This week saw the release of films from different genres – Mirai, Jugnuma and Love in Vietnam and the anime film Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. Out of these, Teja Sajja’s action sci-fi Mirai was off to a good start.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Telugu film’s opening-day collection stood at an estimated Rs 12 crore in India, with 10.86% Hindi occupancy and 68.59% Telugu occupancy. Night shows had a higher occupancy rate of 83.81% than the morning and evening shows. The highest number of shows was in Hyderabad, followed by Bengaluru.

The Karthik Ghattamaneni directorial stars Teja Sajja, Manchu Manoj, Ritika Nayak, Jagapathi Babu and Shriya Saran. In fact, this film performed better on its opening day than Sajja’s previous hit, HanuMan. Mirai revolves around a young warrior tasked with protecting nine sacred scriptures that possess the power to transform any mortal into a deity.

Manoj Bajpayee starrer Jugnuma had a slow start at the box office. On its first day, the fantasy drama minted only Rs 0.05 crore. Directed by Raam Reddy, the film also stars Priyanka Bose, Deepak Dobriyal and Tillotama Shome among others. Jugnuma follows Dev (Manoj Bajpayee), an estate owner troubled by mysterious fires that keep erupting in his apple orchards. His quest for answers gradually blurs the line between the natural and the supernatural.Â

Love in Vietnam’s Day 1 Box Office Collection
Love In Vietnam is an Indian Vietnamese romantic film starring Shantanu Maheshwari, Avneet Kaur and Khả Ngân. The Rahat Shah Kazmi directorial is based on the novel Madonna in a Fur Coat. The film also had a slow start and collected a bit more than Jugnuma. On its opening day, the film earned Rs 0.6 crore.
