BLACKPINK’s Spotify account has reportedly been hacked. The YG Entertainment K-pop group boasts an impressive 1.6 crore monthly listeners, with each member, Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé, also having their own individual profiles and followers. Suddenly, on April 24, their pages started glitching when listeners tried to tune in. The profiles, which usually opened with BLACKPINK’s group picture, began showing unusual behaviour —displaying pictures of another girl group, KISS OF LIFE, along with mentions of their recent controversy where they were called out for cultural appropriation and for using controversial N-words.

BLACKPINK Spotify account hacked, flooded with KISS OF LIFE controversy
BLACKPINK is preparing a full group comeback in 2025 and a possible world tour after their Born Pink era, and thus their Spotify has been witnessing more rush of listeners than usual — also since members Jennie and Lisa have performed at Coachella and their new songs, Like Jennie and Elastigirl, have been hitting top charts. However, the recent Spotify breach has caused outrage on X. Fans revealed that the problem wasn’t just linked to the picture, but also the description, it still shows a photo from their past comeback, but the description connects it to the more recent controversy. It references old pre-debut videos of BLACKPINK, especially the three members, after a video earlier surfaced showing one of them using racial slurs in her initial days.

Later, it was revealed that the streaming platform’s chaos was not just limited to BLACKPINK but also affected other K-pop groups from the same agency, YG Entertainment, like TREASURE and BABYMONSTER. Some even blamed the agency for not tackling the recent controversy well when tapes from the group’s pre-debut days were leaked, while others think that YG can no longer be trusted to handle a group as big as BLACKPINK. Fans also found that Rosé and Jisoo’s individual handles were hacked.

“There’s something wrong with YG. A few days ago, their files and clips of BP got leaked — now the Spotify of their artist got hacked. And that company hasn’t taken a single step against anything yet, not a single lawsuit to save their artist,” a person wrote. “Rosé’s Spotify profile appears to have been hacked or vandalised. We ask that you restore her profile immediately and secure her account,” another said.
