A controversy has erupted after a video went viral showing a man in a compromising position with a woman on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, reportedly involving the husband of a BJP-backed panchayat member from Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur district.
The man in the video has been identified as Manoharlal Dhakad, who is said to be the national secretary of the Dhakad Mahasabha, a position from which he has now been sacked following the scandal.
According to reports, the video — allegedly shot on May 13 — shows the man and a woman outside a white car engaged in an obscene act on the expressway. The vehicle shown in the clip is registered in Dhakad’s name, per transport department data.
Though the BJP has denied any official link between Dhakad and the party, it was confirmed that his wife, Sohan Bai, is a BJP-backed member of the Mandsaur District Panchayat, currently representing Ward No. 8.
Speaking to PTI, Mandsaur BJP District President Rajesh Dixit clarified, “Dhakad is from Bani village but is not a primary member of the BJP. His wife is an elected member. It is also unclear whether he has registered online as a member.”
The Dhakad Mahasabha, a socio-political organization based in Ujjain, has issued a public statement distancing itself from the controversy and announcing Dhakad’s removal from his post due to conduct that they say goes against the ethics of their institution.
Meanwhile, the video continues to circulate widely on social media platforms, sparking outrage and questions about political accountability and public morality.
Law enforcement agencies have not yet commented on whether any legal action will be initiated in connection with the incident.
As the scandal unfolds, both the reputation of the BJP-backed local administration and public trust in elected representatives are under scrutiny.
