Bill Gates is back in India for the third time in three years, this time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Gates Foundation. During his visit, the Microsoft co-founder has been meeting with influential figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But amid his packed schedule, Gates took a break to enjoy a beloved Indian street food—vada pav.
In a video shared on Instagram, Gates is seen sitting on a bench with none other than cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, both dressed casually and relishing the iconic snack. “A snack break before we get to work,” he captioned the post. A “serving soon” text also pops up in the clip. The video quickly went viral, drawing plenty of attention and engagement online.

Reflecting on his time in India, Gates wrote in a blog post, “I came away with new ideas because India is full of smart, ambitious people tackling some of the world’s hardest problems in creative ways.”
This isn’t the first time the billionaire and the cricketing legend have crossed paths. Last year, during a visit to Mumbai, Gates met Tendulkar and his wife, Anjali. Tendulkar described their conversation as “a wonderful learning opportunity to gain perspectives on philanthropy.” Gates, in turn, responded saying, “I had a great time learning more about your work in children’s healthcare. I’m optimistic that, working together, we can score a century for progress!”
