AI-generated videos can be quite entertaining in short bursts, say under two minutes. It’s quite bold, then, that someone has ventured to create an entire feature-length film using this technology.
Titled ‘Love You’, the film is directed by a Bengaluru-based priest named Narasimha Murthy. As per him, his no-human actors movie is the world’s first full-length feature film entirely created using Artificial Intelligence (AI). With a running time of 95 minutes, the film was recently certified by the CBFC.
The makers have claimed that their movie is a groundbreaking one, but it hardly looks like one. While Murthy is proud of making ‘Love You’ on a budget of Rs 10 lakh, it is least likely that he will recover the investment if he is relying merely on theatrical footfalls.
To be sure, this AI film, made in Kannada, could be better than most of the movies that come out of Sandalwood. Yes, Kannada films are that bad usually.
