Apple’s First Foldable iPhone Will Be Smaller Than Galaxy Z Fold 7

A fresh new Apple iPhone Fold leak has just surfaced (design above is a concept image), focusing on its cameras and main display. The information comes from Digital Chat Station, one of the most prominent tipsters in the business. He shared the information via Weibo.

Before we start, do note that the iPhone Fold has not been confirmed, and this is just a placeholder name. We’re talking about Apple’s very first foldable smartphone, though, that much is obvious.

Based on the information, the iPhone Fold’s main display is expected to have a 14.1:10 aspect ratio, with a resolution of 2713 x 1920 pixels. This part is not new, though.

The first foldable Apple iPhone will be smaller than initially reported

The next part is, however. The iPhone Fold will allegedly have a 7.58-inch main display. That goes against the information Digital Chat Station previously reported, as he initially said it would be a 7.8-inch display.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to include an 8.2-inch display. So, this panel on the iPhone Fold will be notably smaller. Apple will also have a more rectangular layout on the main display, closer to what iPads offer.

Now, in regard to cameras. The source claims that we’ll get two 48-megapixel snappers on the back of the iPhone Fold. Well, he said dual 48-megapixel cameras, we presumed that he’s talking about rear cameras.

It could include two out of three rear cameras from the iPhone 16 Pro

Considering that the iPhone 16 Pro also has two 48-megapixel cameras (plus a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto one) on the back, we’re hoping that those two will make way to the iPhone Fold. Unless Apple goes with an inferior main camera, the one from the iPhone 16.

Considering that only two will be back there, we’re presuming main and ultrawide ones will be included, based on said megapixels. Many people would prefer to have a periscope telephoto unit alongside the main one, though.

The tipster also mentioned “amorphous metal glass composite” (machine translation), which is also referred to as “liquid metal”. Apple will allegedly use liquid metal and titanium for this phone’s hinge.

The Apple iPhone Fold is expected to become official in 2026, based on rumors. We’re still not sure how accurate that is, though. It’s also rumored to cost between $2,000 and $2,500.
