Although there were updates about her finishing the shoot for Chakda Xpress in 2022, the movie never saw the light of the day. For those unaware, Chakda Xpress is a biopic on former Indian women’s cricket team captain Jhulan Goswami. The film will explore the cricketer’s journey from her hometown of Chakdaha to becoming one of the fastest female pacers in the world.

Now as per a report by Mid-Day, the makers of Chakda Xpress have urged Netflix to release the movie soon. This also comes after the historic win of Indian women’s cricket squad. As per the report, the makers have personally written to the top executives of the OTT platform to release the biopic now. Moreover, the movie has reportedly not been released yet because the top heads of the platform did not like how the final product turned out to be. “The production house went over-budget. What added to the woes was that the platform heads didn’t like the way the project was shaping up. But it’s still a solid film,” the report added.

The team at Netflix is reportedly sitting to discuss about the movie this month and take a final pass to determine if the project can be released with additional work. This is also because the recent victory of the women’s cricket team has put audiences’ focus back to the movie.
