Ajmal Ameer, the Malayalam and Tamil actor best known for Anjathe and Ko, has become the subject of a social-media storm after an audio recording and a series of screenshots began circulating online. The clip, which allegedly features the actor’s face and voice, captures a man making indecent remarks to a woman. Several social-media accounts have also shared screenshots said to be inappropriate messages from Ajmal, drawing widespread attention and criticism.
The Allegations That Sparked an Uproar
Over the past few days, the controversy has dominated discussion forums and entertainment pages, with users debating the authenticity of the recording. Some claimed it was genuine, while others suspected the use of artificial-intelligence tools. Amid the mounting speculation, Ajmal addressed the issue directly through a video message on Instagram.
Ajmal’s Response: Firm Denial and Gratitude for Support
In his video statement, Ajmal strongly denied the accusations, asserting that the voice in the viral clip was not his. “No fabricated story, AI voice imitation, or clever editing can destroy me or my career,” he said, adding that he had built his reputation across multiple film industries through years of consistent work.
The actor revealed that he previously had no direct control over his online presence, explaining that an old fan-made account had long served as his official profile. “From today, I will handle all my social-media activities personally,” he clarified.
Ajmal also acknowledged the emotional impact of the controversy, expressing appreciation for the people who stood by him during the ordeal. “The strength I gained from your calls and messages is what gave me the courage to face you today. You are my driving force,” he said. Interestingly, he also thanked those who criticised him, saying he respected their intent to uphold social values, even if their approach was harsh.
