WHILE NCP (SP) leader Rohit Pawar had claimed that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was trying to interfere in the finance ministry by appointing a Chief Economic Advisor, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who holds the finance portfolio, has described it as an appropriate move.
“’I think the chief minister has taken the appropriate decision. We are trying to bring in financial discipline in all departments of the government. If the appointment of an experienced officer who through his contacts can bring in additional funds from World Bank, then I think we should have no reason to complain,” Ajit Pawar said.
On the other hand, Rohit Pawar, NCP (SP) MLA, alleged that the chief minister was trying to interfere in the finance ministry headed by Ajit Pawar. “The appointment of a CEA means all decisions will now come under the purview of the chief minister. The appointment of CEA means the CM wants to keep indirect control on all ministries,” he said.
