The Madhya Pradesh State Environment Impact Assessment Authority has granted environmental clearance for the Raghavpur Multipurpose Project in Dindori district, Afcons Infrastructure Limited announced on Friday. Environmental clearance will enable construction to proceed on the Narmada River project.
The shares of Afcons Infrastructure Limited were trading at ₹455.45, down by ₹14.55 or 3.10 per cent on the NSE today at 3.25 pm.
The project, awarded to Afcons by the Narmada Valley Development Authority, includes construction of a dam with a 25 MW powerhouse and an advanced piped irrigation system. The irrigation network will cover 17,587 hectares through pressurised pipelines designed for micro-irrigation.
Satish Paretkar, Director of Hydro & Underground and Water Supply at Afcons, said the project demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure development, while enhancing agricultural productivity and clean energy generation in the region.
According to Project Director RK Singh, Afcons’ responsibilities include preparing land acquisition cases, handling rehabilitation and resettlement compliance, and obtaining necessary statutory clearances from both the Central and state government departments.
