ACB Arrests Deputy Tahsildar for ₹10,000 Bribe in Mancherial

ACB Arrests Deputy Tahsildar for ₹10,000 Bribe in Mancherial

Deputy Tahsildar & Attender

Hyderabad, July 4 – In a crackdown on corruption, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested two government officials from the Mancherial district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 to perform an official duty.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Deputy Tahsildar Akireddy Naveen Kumar and attender Gavidi Anjanna, both serving in Kotapalli Mandal. According to ACB officials, the officers demanded a bribe from a complainant in exchange for linking his late father’s Aadhaar number with revenue land records and issuing the Pattadar Passbook — a crucial document that establishes land ownership.

Interestingly, officials noted that Anjanna was functioning in place of his father, who is currently unwell, and facilitated the bribe on behalf of the deputy tahsildar. Both were caught red-handed during the operation.

The ACB reiterated its commitment to fight corruption and urged citizens not to tolerate or encourage bribery. Citizens are encouraged to report such incidents through the toll-free number 1064 or reach out via WhatsApp at 9440446106, Facebook (Telangana ACB), or X/Twitter (@TelanganaACB).

The accused will be produced before the special ACB court, and further investigation is underway.
