YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, aka Flying Beast, has built an audience of nearly 10 million over the last few years, during which he has evolved into one of India’s most prominent vloggers. In a new video, he took some time to explain why his pet dog Mau has been missing from his videos for quite some time. In a new vlog titled “Where is Mau?” Gaurav said that he has chosen a new path in life, one that doesn’t allow him to have an animal nearby. Reacting to his comments, some fans decided to stop watching his videos henceforth.
In the video, Gaurav Taneja shared that the dog has been shifted to his farmhouse. He shared that he is okay with people sharing their personal space with their pets, but it was becoming a problem for his family. He mentioned that his dad had some issues with the dog being around, he cited religious reasons for the dog being moved to the farm. Some of his fans seemed to understand, but many others were furious.
One person posted in the comments section, “Mau ko laya bhe views k liye tha. Ab aa nhe rhe toh hata diya. He is a very smart (He brought Mau for the views. Now that he is not getting the views, he has thrown Mau out. He is very smart.). Another user posted, “Dogs are happier with their family, they just need love, we left our dog just for 5 days with our uncle and there was plenty of area to play and he was familiar with his dogs. He stopped eating for whole 5 days. My father returned midway to be with him, and as soon as he saw my father he was really happy and he stayed at our uncles place for few more days with my father. He was playing happily with uncles dogs, eating and showing his mischievous side.”
Another YouTube user posted, “Am I the only one crying thinking about the dog’s emotions? How can humans be so selfish? You get a literally new born baby to your home, give him hope of having a new family and then one fine day you just leave him all alone. I have never wished ill on anyone but for this man and his family I do.” Another viewer wrote, “For any animal that we adopt, we are the only world they know. All their thoughts are about us. You have hurt his feelings but dogs will never hold a grudge. You missed out on the only type of unconditional love in this world.” One viewer said that they stopped watching Gaurav’s videos after seeing how the dog was being treated. They wrote, “My pet lived with me for 12 years like my own child. Sharing my bed, sitting on couch. Even entering the kitchen, he did nothing absurd and behaved well because right from the beginning he had access to all the places of my house. I am not suffering from any disease because my pet was sharing my bed or entering the kitchen! I stopped watching his videos when I saw the treatment Mau got from his family!”
Gaurav, who is an IIT graduate, a bodybuilder, and a pilot, shot to fame after becoming a YouTuber. He also appeared on the latest season of Shark Tank India, where he was accused by Anupam Mittal of chasing clout. Some months ago, a controversy erupted around Gaurav and his wife, Ritu, after she was spotted at a spiritual retreat, speaking about being betrayed by him.
