The makers of Moon Walk have released The Moonwalk Anthem, a spirited new track that brings AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva back together for a project that promises full scale musical entertainment. This reunion taps into a nostalgia that stretches back to their celebrated collaborations on Gentleman, Kadhalan, Love Birds, Mr Romeo and Minsara Kanavu, films that shaped an entire era of Tamil cinema’s sound and movement.

A Legendary Partnership Returns with Fresh Energy

The Moonwalk Anthem carries Rahman’s unmistakable musical identity with lyrics and rap by Arivu who adds a contemporary edge. The song reintroduces Prabhu Deva to the lively dance first space that once turned him into an Indian pop culture force. The video highlights the dynamic creative spark between Rahman and Prabhu Deva and hints at the film’s vibrant tone.
Moon Walk is directed by Manoj Nirmala Sreedharan. This film marks his directorial debut and he also produces it under the Behindwoods banner along with Divya Manoj and Praveen Elak. With this step into feature filmmaking, Manoj brings years of industry insight and a strong sense of audience instinct shaped by his digital media journey.

A Musical Packed with Dance, Star Power and Retro Charm

Moon Walk positions music and choreography at the centre of its storytelling. Prabhu Deva’s involvement almost guarantees a focus on expressive movement, stylised sequences and high energy set pieces. The Moonwalk Anthem sets that expectation with its lively rhythm and infectious mood.
The cast brings together a mix of performers from multiple corners of South Indian cinema. The line up includes Yogi Babu, Arjun Ashokan, Aju Varghese, Satz, Sushmitha Nayak, Nishma Chengappa, Mottai Rajendran, Redin Kingsley, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, Deepa Shankar, Ramkumar Natarajan and Dr Santhosh Jacob. Their presence points to a film that blends humour, character based storytelling and the trademark spectacle associated with Prabhu Deva’s signature dance driven roles.
The technical team adds further strength. Cinematography is led by Anoop V Shylaja who brings a youthful visual texture to the project. Editing is handled by Raymond Derrick Crasta whose work in films such as Aruvi and Gatta Kusthi has demonstrated a sharp understanding of rhythm and emotional pacing. Together, they aim to create a visual style that flows seamlessly with the film’s choreography and musical sequences.

Adding a touch of retro inspired charm, the makers also revealed The Moonwalk Mini Cassette, a limited cassette release of the anthem that will be showcased on YouTube soon. This playful collectable is a nod to the growing comeback of physical music formats and adds a nostalgic layer to the film’s promotional strategy.
Moon Walk arrives at a time when Tamil cinema is embracing musicals with renewed enthusiasm. With Rahman’s compositions, Prabhu Deva’s performance energy and Manoj’s fresh directorial voice, the film carries the promise of a colourful, celebratory and rhythm forward entertainer. The excitement around The Moonwalk Anthem has already set the project on a strong promotional footing.
