Sushmitha’s expressive side
Sushmitha Bhat has reportedly joined the cast of King100. Director Ra Karthik wanted to cast her in a crucial role. Apparently, he was fascinated with her performance in the Telugu film Natyam in which she played a supporting dancer. In real life too, Sushmitha is a classical dancer. Her captivating dance movements, marked by expressive eyes and fluid movements, left audiences intrigued in the song Margazhi Thingal from the 2025 Malayalam film, Dominic and the Ladies Purse, produced by Mammootty. Hailing from a culturally diverse background with roots in Chennai and Udupi, Sushmitha began learning dance at a young age. The classical art form played a significant role in shaping her artistic expression. And director Ra Karthik wanted to tap this side of her in his film. Sushmitha’s expressive side to seamlessly shift between various emotions was the clincher.

Working in multiple languages
Barely five years into showbiz, Sushmitha has already worked in all the four South languages – Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. The actress is reportedly excited to be part of Nagarjuna’s film. Her foray into various languages underscores her transition from dance to acting. “Ra Karthik wanted an actress who can deliver composed performances with grace and elegance. He believes that Sushmitha’s dance background helps to portray complex emotions on screen as her character navigates through various layers,” informs a source. Produced by Nagarjuna himself, he would resume shooting for a new schedule later this month.
