Recently, a Pan India film, Gummadi Narsaiah, starring Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, was announced. Directed by Parameshwar Hivrale, the film is inspired from the life of beloved politician and people’s leader Gummadi Narsaiah. Produced by N. Suresh Reddy under Pravallika Arts Creations, the film’s first look was released and has garnered curiosity.

Shiva Rajkumar embodies the spirit

Narsaiah served as the Member of Legislative Assembly (as Independent) for Yellandu between 1983 to 1994 and from 1999 to 2009. According to director Parameshwar bringing his life onscreen is a challenge.

“Narsaiah garu is known for his commitment and service. He earned the love and respect as ‘people’s man’ and I could find similar qualities in Shiva Rajkumar sir. I don’t want Narsaiah garu’s lookalike, but I want someone who can embody his spirit,” says the director. When he narrated the script to the superstar, he was inspired by Narsaiah’s heroics and agreed to do the film. “Bringing Narsaiah’s remarkable life to the silver screen is a challenge but we are all inspired by the way he fought and won several causes,” added Parameshwar. “The film chronicles the great deeds of unsung hero Narsaiah garu. How he brought various social issues to public life through his movements and philosophies.”

A tale of integrity, sacrifice, and service

Gummadi Narsaiah’s life is a story of integrity, sacrifice, and service, the director wanted to bring them on screen through Shiva Rajkumar. He effortlessly embodies the essence of Gummadi Narsaiah, exuding humility and quiet strength, says the director. “Narsaiah garu’s life has a deep human connection that transcends linguistic and cultural boundaries. Through my film, I wanted to pay tributes to the way he led his life, and pass on his philosophy to inspire the Gen Next. The film is about celebrating a man who truly belonged to the people.” Gummadi Narsaiah will commence shooting soon and will be released in multiple languages. Interestingly, Parameshwar was an actor and was part of a handful of films, but says, “Direction is always my passion.”
