Mumbai Police rescue newborn baby found crying in Borivali East

A newborn baby was found abandoned in a nullah at Ashokvan in Borivali East on Sunday night, around 10 p.m.

“The police station received a call from local residents who reported seeing a baby lying inside the nullah. The baby was alive and crying. Officers on night duty immediately rushed to the spot, rescued the child, and shifted her to Savitribai Phule BMC Hospital in Borivali East,” said Sarje Rao Patil, Senior PI of Dahisar Police Station.

Hospital sources confirmed that the baby is stable and under observation in the ICU. “Some nullah water had entered her stomach, but so far, we haven’t noticed any serious health issues,” said hospital sources.

Meanwhile, police said they are reviewing CCTV footage in the area to trace the baby’s parents.
