According to some reports, Vidya Balan plays the role of veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty’s eldest daughter. Mithun will be seen as the main villain opposite Rajinikanth. The insider added, “Vidya’s character is strong, emotional, and deeply tied to the film’s core conflict. Her presence adds a new layer to the story.” The shooting of Jailer 2 is currently taking place in Chennai, and the team plans to move to Goa in late October for the next schedule, which will continue for nearly two months. Post-production work is expected to begin early next year.

Fans recently got a peek behind the scenes when Sun Pictures, the production house, shared a video from the Diwali shoot on social media. The clip featured Rajinikanth interacting warmly with the crew, Vidya filming her first Tamil scene, and director Nelson Dilipkumar giving cues for an action sequence.
