Mumbai: Members of a Hindutva organisation in Malad, Mumbai, were seen pasting stickers on vehicles with “I love Mahadev” written on them.

The video of the incident surfaced on October 25, showing a group of men walking on the road, randomly stopping commuters to paste the Mahadev sticker.

They were reportedly heard saying, “This isn’t Muhammad’s India, this is Hindustan, Ram’s India,” creating tension in the area.

As of yet, there has been no response from the authorities.

The “I Love Mahadev” movement came after the controversy over ‘I Love Muhammad’ graffiti and posters erupted a few months ago when the police in Kanpur filed an FIR against 24 people for allegedly installing boards with the slogan on them during an Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi procession on September 4. The police action sparked protests in Uttar Pradesh and other states.

A total of 4505 Muslims were booked and 285 arrested till October 7 in connection with the nationwide ‘I Love Muhammad’ protests, according to a fact-finding report by the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR).
