As Jr NTR’s film Devara: Part 1 completed a year today, the makers officially announced the sequel. The film, directed by Koratala Siva, also starred Janhvi Kapoor in a key role. The first part ended in a cliffhanger, and the sequel will take the narrative forward.
The production team took to social media to write, “It’s been one year since HAVOC struck the shores, trembling every coast, and the name the world remembers is #DEVARA. Be it the FEAR it unleashed or the LOVE it earned, the streets will never forget. Now gear up for #Devara2.”
Take a look at the post:
Jr NTR’s brother Kalyanram had earlier revealed that the sequel is in the works, but this announcement just made things official. Devara Part 1 became a hit when it was released last year. It marked Janhvi’s Telugu debut as well. Besides Jr NTR and Janhvi, the film also starred Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Murali Sharma, Abhimanyu Singh and Ajay.
Besides being a hit in India, it also broke records in Japan. The actor, who already had a strong fan following due to his role in RRR, saw his popularity grow even more with this film. IN just two days, it became the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan.
Meanwhile, a couple of weeks back, he sustained injuries on the sets of an ad commercial. The actor was walking on the ramp floor while this happened. Although the injury was a minor one, the actor was advised to rest for two weeks as a precautionary measure.
A statement from Jr NTR’s office read, “Mr NTR sustained a minor injury today while shooting for an advertisement. On medical advice, he will be resting for the next couple of weeks to ensure a complete recovery. We would like to assure everyone that his condition is stable and there is no cause for concern. We sincerely request fans, media, and the public to refrain from any speculation.”
Talking of his other films, the actor was most recently seen in War 2, which marked his Bollywood debut. The film also starred Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani.
