The Malad Police in Mumbai have launched a crackdown on inter-state arms smuggling gangs and arrested two men in connection with the case.
The police have also recovered country-made guns, foreign pistol, a rifle, and live cartridges from their possession.
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sandeep Jadhav and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Hemant Sawant, a police team conducted raids in Gorakhpur, where they recovered three country-made guns, a foreign-made pistol, two magazines, 10 live cartridges, and a 12-bore rifle with 10 rounds from the Maruti Suzuki car of one of the accused, Ravindra Pandey alias Raghvendra Pandey.
Pandey is a Gorakhpur resident and was traced after Dhiraj Upadhyaya, the first accused in the case, was nabbed by police with a country-made pistol.
