As Kantara Chapter 1 nears its release (October 2), the film continues to hit the headlines for interesting reasons. So far, the rustic action thriller was in the news for being a franchise film, unique plotline and Rishab Shetty’s prep for the part. While he is also directing and starring in the film, there’s an interesting buzz that’s doing the rounds. Apparently, Rishab has not taken any remuneration for the film. Instead, he had reportedly opted for a share in the profits. The news became a hot topic and is going viral, and fans of Rishab have been sharing it extensively on social media.

Kantara Chapter 1, most anticipated film!

After the Pan India blockbuster success of Kantara, Rishab Shetty and production house Hombale Films announced a prequel, Kantara Chapter 1. So it’s no surprise that it has become one of the anticipated films, the massive 6000 screen release is proof enough. While there’s so much happening behind the lens, rumours are rife that Rishab has not taken remuneration for the film. Sources close to the unit share that the actor-director instead preferred to take share the film’s profit. Rishab Shetty’s move for the prequel isn’t surprising considering the magnitude of success of Kantara. Being a Pan India film, he believed in the content and asked for share in the profits.

A source close to the unit informs, “The prequel’s budget is much higher than Kantara. Moreover, apart from directing and acting, Rishab Shetty also invested in the filmmaking. The confidence he has on the film prompted him to take the plunge. He hasn’t taken up any film after Kantara became a blockbuster. That’s because he wanted to see how audiences receive Kantara Chapter 1 at the box office. Recently, Rishab agreed to do a film for director Prashanth Varma of HanuMan fame. The actor also participated in a photoshoot, and the film will go on floors soon.
