In an exclusive chat with Filmfare filmmaker Anurag Kashyap opens up about the making of his upcoming film Nishaanchi starring Aaishvary Thackeray, who takes on a double role alongside Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra. The Gangs Of Wasseypur famed director is back with a bang with another crime drama set in the small town of Kanpur which has fresh faces as the film’s lead.

Kashyap reveals that the idea for the film was conceived back in 2016, and that actor Sushant Singh Rajput was initially his first choice for the lead role. In the interview, he also discusses the advanced techniques now used in cinema to portray double roles, while admitting that experimenting with VFX still scares him. Reflecting on his early career, the director recalls his experience of working with Ram Gopal Varma and revisits Satya, a landmark film where the two collaborated.
