US shooter who killed two school students had ‘Nuke India

A gunman who killed two children and injured at least 17 others at a school in Minneapolis city in the United States’ Minnesota on Wednesday had “Nuke India” painted on one of his firearms, PTI reported.

The gunman, identified as 23-year-old Robin Westman, was armed with three guns and fired through the stained-glass windows of a church at Annunciation Catholic School where students were attending mass, Reuters reported.

Two students, aged 8 and 10, were killed in the shooting.

Westman reportedly died by suicide at the rear of the church shortly after the attack, Reuters quoted Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara as saying.

After the attack, videos circulating online allegedly showed Westman displaying a cache of weapons, including rifles, handguns and loaded magazines, PTI reported.

The phrase “Nuke India” was clearly visible in white lettering on one of the firearms, The New Indian Express reported. Other inflammatory messages such as “Kill [US President] Donald Trump”, “Kill Trump Now”, “Israel Must Fall” and “Burn Israel” were also written on them.

Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel said that the attack was being investigated as an “act of domestic terrorism and hate crime targeting Catholics”, Reuters reported.

O’Hara said that it was “deliberate act of violence against innocent children and other people worshiping”. The police chief said that he had no information yet about a motive for the shooting, “other than to say there was some kind of manifesto timed to come out on YouTube”.

However, the “manifesto” had been taken down by authorities, he added.
