While the actress has been busy lining up her next set of projects, here’s an interesting, big development. According to sources, Nandini Reddy who had earlier directed Samantha in the blockbuster film Oh Baby is wielding the baton for her next film, Maa Inti Bangaram. The actress and the director are set to reunite for the breezing entertainer, and the work for the same is currently progressing in full swing.

Nandini Reddy replaces a debutant

A couple of years ago, Samantha Ruth Prabhu announced that Maa Inti Bangaram is the next Telugu film she would star in. While the actress hasn’t revealed the name of the director, it was speculated that the project would be helmed by a debutant. At one point, Samantha came close to zeroing in on a director, and a lot of script work too had been done. But perhaps Samantha’s confidence in Nandini Reddy coupled with the director’s sharp writing ability prompted the actress-producer to give her the directorial reins. A source close to the production house says that the work for the film is progressing briskly.

Maa Inti Bangaram is a crime thriller

Maa Inti Bangaram is slated to be a crime thriller, set in the 1980s backdrop. Nandini Reddy is presently working on the film’s writing with her team, and if all goes well according to the plan, the project may be launched before the end of the year. “Since Nandini Reddy knows Samantha’s work style and how she wants to be presented, the combination is likely to do a world of good to the actress. The director knew how fans wanted to see Samantha as a performer, and had designed an impactful character,” adds the source. Apart from acting, Samantha will produce the film under her Tralala Moving Pictures banner.
