The Naigaon police have booked two Std XII students from a reputed school and junior college for allegedly morphing an image of their 29-year-old female teacher with pornographic content and circulating it on social media.
According to police sources, the victim, a teacher residing in Naigaon West, has been teaching at the institution for several years. The incident occurred during a college function where she was anchoring the event.
The accused, both students of the same school, allegedly clicked her photograph at the event.
“The face of the complainant teacher was superimposed onto the bodies of nude women from pornographic material. During the investigation, it was revealed that the morphed image was created by one of the accused and shared with his classmate, who later uploaded it to Instagram,” a police source told mid-day.
“The image then went viral among their group of friends and eventually reached the teacher and her relatives,” the source added.
Shocked and distressed by the act, the teacher approached the Naigaon police station and filed a formal complaint on Wednesday.
“Based on the teacher’s complaint, we have registered a case against two Std XII students under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Information Technology (IT) Act,” a police officer said.
“Further investigation is underway,” the officer added.
