Gold Theft Cracked in Hours in Hyderabad: ₹4 Lakh Worth Ornaments Recovered

Hyderabad, July 13: In a swift and commendable operation, the Hyderabad police successfully cracked a theft case within hours and recovered stolen gold ornaments worth approximately ₹4 lakhs.

On the morning of July 13, 2025, around 11:00 AM, Smt. Syeda Zufi*** Nas**, a resident of Akbarpura, Tolichowki, filed a complaint with local authorities reporting the disappearance of her gold ornaments weighing around 5 tulas (approximately 50 grams) from her almirah while she was preparing for a family function. A case was promptly registered under Cr. No. 75/2025 U/s 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation was launched.

The police team began reviewing CCTV footage from nearby surveillance cameras, which quickly led to the identification of a former maid, Dee***, wife of Gode Barghav, aged 26, residing in Hakeempet, Tolichowki. Officers proceeded to her residence and detained her for questioning.

During interrogation, the accused admitted to the theft and disclosed that she committed the crime to finance a lavish lifestyle with her colleague, with whom she is involved in an extramarital affair. It was also revealed that she is currently working as housekeeping staff at SKP Towers in Gachibowli and is married with three children.

The police successfully recovered the stolen gold ornaments, bringing a timely resolution to the case. The swift action has been lauded by the community and serves as a stern warning to those considering similar offenses.
