Hyderabad Deputy Tax Officer Arrested for ₹8,000 Bribe in GST Registration Case

Hyderabad, July 8: A government officer in Hyderabad was arrested by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on charges of demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹8,000 to perform official duties.

The accused, M. Sudha, serving as a Deputy State Tax Officer in Madhapur, allegedly solicited a bribe from a businessman for processing a GST registration and issuing a GST number for the complainant’s company.

Acting on a formal complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and caught the officer red-handed while accepting the bribe amount. The officer was taken into custody and further investigation is currently underway.
