Deputy Tahsildar Caught
Hyderabad, July 7: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday apprehended Deputy Tahsildar Shaik Javeed from Miryalguda on bribery charges. The officer, who was on deputation in the civil supplies department, allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹1,00,000 to issue a panchanama report for three seized vehicles.
According to officials, the complainant approached ACB after Javeed initially demanded ₹1 lakh to facilitate the release order of the vehicles from the Joint Collector’s court. Following negotiations, the accused agreed to reduce the bribe amount to ₹70,000.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, ACB officials set a trap and arrested the accused while he was accepting the bribe. He was subsequently produced before the special court for ACB cases in Nampally.
Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
The Telangana ACB has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any incidents of bribery. Citizens can lodge complaints via the toll-free number 1064, WhatsApp (9440446106), or through their official social media handles: Facebook (@TelanganaACB) and X (@TelanganaACB).
