Cow Vigilantes

Hyderabad, July 4: A disturbing incident of mob violence unfolded in the Medipally area of Hyderabad on Thursday, as a Muslim man transporting animal bones was brutally assaulted by a group of self-proclaimed cow vigilantes. The victim, identified as Mustafa, was driving a DCM vehicle en route to Chengicherla when he was intercepted and attacked by unidentified men.

According to reports, the vigilantes forcefully stopped Mustafa’s vehicle, dragged him out, and physically assaulted him, alleging suspicion over the cargo. Promptly alerted, local police rushed to the scene, rescued the injured driver, and shifted him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

AIMIM MLC Mirza Rahmath Baig visited Mustafa at the hospital to check on his condition and later went to the Medipally police station to seek updates on the progress of the investigation. He condemned the attack and demanded strict action against those responsible.

Police have registered a case and stated that further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the attackers. The incident has sparked concern over growing vigilantism and the need for firm enforcement of law and order.
