
Hyderabad, July 3: A police sub-inspector from Film Nagar police station lost his life in a tragic road accident on National Highway 65 near Sangareddy on Wednesday, July 2.
The deceased, identified as Rajeshwar (59), was a resident of Chanikyapuri Colony in Sangareddy town. He had recently taken charge at the Film Nagar police station and was on duty at Balkampet for Bonalu festival arrangements.
The accident occurred when a speeding vehicle rammed into his car from behind while he was traveling on NH-65. Rajeshwar sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he succumbed during treatment about an hour later.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway. The body was shifted to the government hospital in Sangareddy for a postmortem.
Rajeshwar had joined the police force in 1990 and was known for his dedication to duty. He is survived by his wife and two children. The tragic incident has left the police department in mourning.
