Riyadh, July 2: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced on Monday, June 30, that it has issued a total of 1.90 lakh Umrah visas to pilgrims from around the world between June 10 and June 30, 2025. The visas were issued through the Nusuk platform, the unified digital gateway designed to provide government services to pilgrims and visitors. The Nusuk app, launched as part of Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation initiative, allows users to easily book appointments, issue permits, and access a range of digital services tailored to enrich their Umrah journey.

The Ministry confirmed that the issuance of Umrah permits began on Wednesday, June 11, through the app, ensuring that international pilgrims could make timely arrangements for their spiritual journey.

According to a report by Saudi Gazette, this early surge in Umrah visa applications comes on the heels of a successful Hajj season, during which Saudi authorities implemented advanced procedures, boosted technical capabilities, and enhanced infrastructure. These measures significantly improved the performance and quality of services offered to both Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

The ministry emphasized that this is just the initial phase of Umrah service facilitation for 2025, with more advancements and updates expected as part of the Kingdom’s broader goals under Vision 2030.

With the Kingdom continuing its focus on digital innovation, pilgrim satisfaction, and infrastructure development, the Umrah journey is set to become more accessible, efficient, and spiritually fulfilling for millions of Muslims worldwide.
