Google Just Launched an AI Stylist — Say Hello to Doppl

Google has announced a new application for Android and iOS, it’s called ‘Doppl’. Google refers to this application as an “experimental app”, and it was pushed out by Google Labs.

Google Doppl is basically your AI stylist

What does it do, exactly? Well, it helps you visualize how an outfit might look on you. This is kind of your personal virtual stylist, in a way. Trying out basically any outfit is a piece of cake, actually.

The first thing you’ll need to do is upload a full-body photo of yourself. Once you have that set up, you can try basically any clothing item from your camera roll. Download a picture of the item you’d like to try out, or take a picture of it.

Google’s processing magic will take care of the rest and dress you up in the virtual world. It is very simple, which is the whole point of an application like this. Do note that the app is now available only in the US.

Doppl app builds on top of what Google Shopping delivered

Now, Doppl basically builds on what Google Shipping delivered. Google Shopping announced the ability to virtually try billions of clothing items on yourself. Doppl brings new features on top of that, including the ability to use photos or screenshots to try out outfits.

That’s not all, however. Doppl can also bring your looks to life thanks to AI-generated videos. It basically converts a static image into a dynamic visual, that way you’ll get an even better sense of what a clothing item will look like on you.

Google does note that Doppl is a Google Labs experiment. The company also notes that it’s in its early days and that it may get things wrong. So, if it ends up missing the mark at times, that’s why.

The app is available in the US only, for now

You can grab the app for either Android or iOS as we speak, just do note it’s for US consumers only at the moment. Chances are that Google will push it to other markets in the future, though.
