The police have booked the owner of a paying guest (PG) accommodation in Mangaluru and his associates for allegedly attacking an engineering student.
The accused reportedly attacked an 18-year-old former boarder for posting a negative review about the PG. The incident occurred on March 17 around 10.30 pm under the jurisdiction of the Kadri police station in Mangaluru.
The victim, Vikas, a native of Kalaburagi, had stayed at the PG for six months before moving out. He later posted a one-star review on Google, citing issues like insects in food, poor hygiene, and unclean toilets.
Following the posting of the review, PG owner Santosh allegedly threatened Vikas and demanded its removal. When Vikas refused, Santosh and four others reportedly assaulted him and forced him to delete the comment.
