The STPI Chennai network, with five sub-centres in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, is driving decentralised tech growth in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.Â
Units registered under STPI-Chennai have recorded software exports of ₹85,460 crore, a 6 per cent increase over ₹80,979 crore reported in FY24.
STPI Chennai has a network of around 1,30,000 sq. ft. of workspace. With its network of five sub-centres in Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Tirunelveli, and Puducherry, STPI Chennai is decentralising tech-driven growth and unlocking new export potential from Tier-II and Tier-III cities, says a release.
Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI, said in a statement:Now, STPI has 67 centres across the country, and these centres have played a vital role in transforming the IT industry. In 2024-25, the exports done by STPI registered units nationally reached more than ₹10 lakh crore.
STPI also has 24 Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs) and has supported more than 1400 startups. Startups empowered through the STPI ecosystem have raised funds of ₹574 crore from investors so far, Kumar said.
STPI functions under the Ministry of Electronics & IT. It implements the Software Technology Park (STP) and Electronics Hardware Technology Park (EHTP) schemes.
