Jupiter Electric Mobility Partners with Pickkup to Deploy 300 Electric Vehicles

Jupiter Electric Mobility, the electric vehicle division of Jupiter Wagons Limited, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Pickkup to deploy 300 JEM TEZ electric light commercial vehicles by year-end. The partnership aims to expand electric vehicle adoption in India’s logistics sector.

The collaboration follows pilot testing that demonstrated the JEM TEZ vehicles can achieve a range of 190-220 kilometers on a single charge across urban and intercity routes, including Delhi to Chandigarh corridors. The vehicles support a payload capacity of 1,050 kilograms and feature CCS2 charging compatibility.

Pickkup, established four years ago, operates a fleet of three-wheeler and four-wheeler electric commercial vehicles across National Capital Region cities and tier-2 markets including Mohali and Chandigarh. The company secured $500,000 in seed funding in February 2025 from We Founder Circle to expand operations and technology development.

The partnership aligns with the Government of India’s PM e-DRIVE scheme, which promotes electric vehicle adoption in commercial transportation. India’s electric vehicle market has been growing as the government pushes for reduced carbon emissions and enhanced energy security through clean mobility solutions.

Jupiter Electric Mobility operates a manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Indore, with production capacity of 8,000 to 10,000 electric light commercial vehicles annually. The company plans phased expansion to meet growing demand for electric commercial vehicles in the logistics sector.

Pickkup has completed over 150,000 kilometers of deliveries using electric vehicles and employs more than 100 people. The company provides on-demand, corporate, and warehouse logistics solutions across its operational markets.

The electric commercial vehicle segment in India has attracted investment as logistics companies seek to reduce operational costs and meet environmental compliance requirements. The partnership represents part of broader industry efforts to electrify last-mile and mid-mile delivery operations.

Jupiter Wagons Limited, the parent company, is listed on BSE and NSE stock exchanges and has operations in railway infrastructure and mobility solutions. The company established Jupiter Electric Mobility to focus on electric vehicle manufacturing and energy storage solutions for commercial and industrial applications.
