Preity Zinta on evacuation of cricket stadium amid India-Pakistan conflict

On Thursday, May 8, the IPL match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, held in Dharamshala, was abruptly called off midway. Rising tensions at the border between India and Pakistan, along with concerns over civilian security, led to the cancellation of the match.

Viral videos from the night showed Zinta looking concerned and urging people not to loiter and to evacuate the premises immediately. Days after the incident, Zinta took to Instagram to reveal that she is back home and thanked the concerned authorities for safely moving the IPL teams out of Dharamshala.

She thanked Indian Railways for swiftly transporting the IPL players and other officials out of the city. “A heartfelt thank you to Indian Railways and our Railway Minister Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw for helping both IPL teams, all officials, and families leave Dharamshala in a safe, swift, and comfortable way. A big thank you to Mr. Jay Shah, Mr. Arun Dhumal, BCCI, our CEO Mr. Satish Menon, and the operations team of Punjab Kings for coordinating the evacuation of our stadium in Dharamshala safely and in an orderly manner. Everything was handled so well.”
