Chamber Dispels Shutdown Rumors, Joint Committee to Address Challenges

KL Damodar Prasad, Secretary of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, today clarified that theatres will run normally from June 1. In other words, there is no strike.

The TFCC addressed recent “false and speculative” reports regarding a potential shutdown. Prasad announced that an Executive Committee meeting will be held on May 30. During this meeting, a joint committee comprising representatives from producers, distributors, and exhibitors will be formed. This committee will be tasked with “finding solutions to current industry problems within a set timeframe”. He also stated that the Chamber is open to discussing the matter with the government if necessary, as they have done in the past. Also, he “strongly rejected the rumor that the supposed shutdown is targeting any particular film,” in an indirect reference to Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu.

Prasanna Kumar, Sridhar, Sudhakar Reddy, Shiva Prasad Rao, Bharat Bhushan, Venkateswara Rao, Suniel Narang, Anupam Reddy, Bharat Chowdary, TS Ram Prasad, C Kalyan, Muthyala Ramadas, M Sudhakar, and others will be included in the committee.
